When drivers make mistakes, there’s always going to be a risk that there will be a crash and injuries as a result. Drivers should always pay attention to the road, drive only when sober and be aware of others to help prevent collisions. Poor driving techniques or mistakes can quickly result in a crash that has irreversible consequences.
Serious crashes, like those between tractor-trailers or semitrucks and small vehicles, almost always lead to injuries of some kind. While the driver of the larger vehicle may not always be at risk of any serious harm coming to them, those who are traveling in passenger vehicles could end up severely injured. The weight and size differences are just too much, so smaller vehicles are at a disadvantage.
Take for example this case. There was a recent crash in Greensboro that left a woman seriously hurt. According to the news report, the police reported to the crash at around 12:15 p.m. when they received a call that a passenger vehicle and tractor-trailer had collided.
The crash happened on Interstate 40 approaching Gallimore Dairy Road. A woman driving a Honda Accord was struck by a tractor-trailer. The woman was badly hurt and had to be transported to Moses Cone Hospital. Fortunately, the driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.
It’s not clear how seriously the woman was injured, but it’s safe to say that the crash was significant. Whenever there is such a major discrepancy between the sizes of vehicles, there is likely to be major damage and serious injuries that result from the crash. Fortunately, it sounds as if the people involved in this collision will survive.
